DETAILS OF THE SCHEME
The Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) was established under the Small Business Act 2004, Chapter 44:10 of the laws of Botswana. LEA is mandated with entrepreneurship and enterprise development in Botswana under the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry. It supports various sectors, including Agriculture, Services, Tourism, Technology and Innovation, and Manufacturing.
Objectives
- Provide funding for the development of competitive and sustainable citizen-owned businesses and joint ventures.
- Support entrepreneurship development across multiple sectors.
- Foster growth-oriented enterprises within Botswana and beyond
Eligibilty Criteria
- Botswana citizens aged 18-35 years (Youth)
- Documentation demonstrating project viability and relevance to supported sectors
